The World Tourism Organization is a United Nations agency that specializes in promoting sustainable, responsible, and accessible tourism. It encourages ethical tourism that has positive socio-economic development and  produces negative impacts. UNWTO headquarters are located right here in Madrid. The World Tourism Organization is regularly preparing reports for the General Assembly of the United Nations providing updates on sustainable tourism policies both from the UNWTO Member States and States Members of the United Nations, as well as relevant agencies and programs of the United Nations system. It has six regional commissions located in Africa, the Americas, East Asia and the Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and South Asia (UNWTO).
